They were written on ordinary notepads in her own hand, and provide a vivid personal account of life in Langton Matravers in the middle years of the 20th Century. They are unedited, as we wanted Cecily's distinctive voice to come through - in effect, an oral history. As such they provide a hugely valuable insight into the social and community history of Langton in the period, recording the activities, behaviour, attitudes, characters and way of life as seen by someone who was 'at the centre of things' in so many ways.
